5 MINUTES INSIDE MY HEAD
A couple of weeks ago I reset my default home page to www.sure.org which returns a seemingly random page each time it loads. Most of the pages are pretty normal web-fare, but every now and then, I find a good one. Yesterday, was one such day. I found a site that had a link that took me to another site that had, for sale, t-shirts and bumperstickers that looked like legitimate campaign signs--only they said, "Republicans for Voldemort"
It may not be particularly original, but damn it made me laugh. I thought, "Wow! If Voldemort contested Shrub's incumbency for the Republican Presidential nomination, he'd have to win! I mean, c'mon! He's freaking Voldemort, for heaven's sake!" Of course, I doubt that being President of a huge, financially over-extended Muggle empire might not hold much appeal for the big V. But, you never know! And hey! I'm betting that the Skull and Bones crew would think that being called Death Eaters rawked.
Speaking of Voldemort, I'm finally reading HP 5. We managed to get an English version in e-book format. It's kind of fun how reading and e-book in bed takes me back to my childhood. Back then, I had a flashlight. Now, I've got a backlight on my Sony Clie NX70V (this is a link to a refurbished one) and cool text and background colors courtesy of Tiny Book Reader. Being snuggled up in the covers, in the dark, reading, is the best! My imagination goes wild with the lack of distraction. Everything feels more present and exciting.
Listening to: UB40 Present Arms IN DUB and Toto La Momposina Y Sus Tambores La Candela Viva Old stuff, but worth revisiting.
