Reading: Ecclesiastes. Recommended by a dear friend who keeps people from being intimidated by his wisdom by erecting a smokescreen of humor. He's a treasure. First impression? It's amazing to me how nearly every verse of the first chapter is the basis of a common aphorism.
Wondering: If I'm ever going to feel competent at work.
Feeling:Hungry. Dinner time!
Excited about: A new friend I've made. She contacted me when she saw my posts on Spotlight Health. She doesn't post there often, but something about what I've written made her want to connect. I posted my email address there and she took the opportunity to send me a message. We've since exchanged lengthy emails and talked for some time on the phone this weekend. I see with tremendous clarity some of the reasons why it's a great time for us to meet and become part of one another's lives. We each have substantial gifts to share and receive. What a nice feeling!
Weighing: Down 29lbs total: 9 from before I got the blessed thing activated; 4 after my first adjustment of June 4; 16 since my adjustment of July 23. I was scheduled for another adjustment on September 10, but postponed it to October. If I continue to lose at this rate, I'll put it off again.
Surprised by: The unexpected joy spurred by sorrowful circumstances. My grandfather's dcotor has informed him that there's nothing more that medicine can do regarding his cancer except to help manage his pain. I'm going to visit him and, as it turns out, my sister and I are making the trip at the same time! We managed to plan such that we'll be on the same connecting flight for the end of the trip there and the beginning of the trip home. It will be great to see my grandfather, great to see him together, and an amazing gift to see my niece and meet my youngest nephew! He turned one in August and I was beginning to feel like we might not meet until he graduated from high school.
